Build and update your MODFLOW model. Leave the manual work to an agent.
GWlink is a desktop interface for MODFLOW 6 and MODFLOW-USG where the model lives on a map. An agent can load the data, build the grid, set up the packages and run the model, one visible action at a time, and do it again when the data or the assumptions change.

The model changes for as long as the project does
New data, a change in assumptions or another scenario mean repeating work that comes out of the project budget. That work can be delegated. Here you ask from your phone to halve the recharge. The agent edits the package, writes the files and runs MODFLOW. The new heads are on screen for you to check.
Cut the model open
Open the 3D view, pick the two ends and the section appears, water table against the terrain. Models and their errors are spatial, and the cut is how you see what the model is doing.
The solver without the black box
Click an iteration on the convergence chart and the cell with the largest error lights up on the map. Elsewhere that is an afternoon reading the listing file by hand.
The whole model becomes a flopy notebook
The actions that change the model, from loading data to running it, are recorded in the model's script as named steps. Generate notebook turns those steps into a flopy notebook and Run all executes it on the embedded kernel, outputs and plots inline. The same model, reproducible outside GWlink.

Who builds it
Daniel López
Hydrogeologist, GWLab
Designed from the start by a modeller who is also a developer, with close to twenty years operating groundwater models.
Project work in Chile, the United Kingdom and Australia: water resources, environmental impact, groundwater flow and contaminant transport, mine dewatering predictions and pore pressure models for open pit slopes. GWlink is the tool he wanted on those projects.
